But how in the hell do they look at this garbage and think “Yeah, this is what the people and our fan base want!” But I suppose that’s not where the money is at these days. Hell, I’m in the camp wishing for a New R6 similar to Vegas. We’ve screamed, begged and cried to a new Splinter Cell more than anything. Nobody here asked for a neon-colored abomination of a F2P game. And they have the nerve to lie to us and say they ‘listened’. This is nothing less of an insult to Tom Clancy as well as the fan base. So Ody can focus on its unique setting and characters instead. In the same way, Odyessy doesn't need to explain to the audience the concept of the Isu or why the Cult are the bad guys or why the Protagonist is special etc. All Endgame needs to explain is the Time Travel since that's new. The audience already knows what they are from past films. Like, in Avengers Endgame, the film doesn't need to sit down and explain to the audience what the Infinity Stones are. Allowing them to hit the ground running and not have to keep re-establishing the world. Secondly, by keeping these games as AC it lets them inherit all of the set up from past games. Especially as prior AC games like Unity and Syndicate already have RPG systems and even choices anyway.īasically, what I'm saying is if games like AC3-Syndicate can be considered AC games despite their deviations and additions, you kinda have to also call Origins-Valhalla AC games as well since they keep or expand much of the systems from those games. People would already point out "This is basically Assassin's Creed but more of an RPG". It wouldn't do Ubi any favours if in 2017, they released a new series called "Warriours of History" or something where you play as a protagonist who uses stealth, combat and parkour/climbing (who also a bloodline that gives them powers) to explore detailed historical settings to fight ancient conspiratorial groups. I don't think marketing newer AC games as a new series would be the right move.įirstly, people already complain that Ubi's different series are quite similar.
